Sustainability Facts

The Environmental Audit Committee found that 15% of all clothing fabric is wasted at the cutting stage of production, before it even has a chance to get into a store.

The World Bank Group has calculated that 20% of all water pollution comes from textile dyeing treatments. 

Did you know that 60% of all clothing is trashed within a year. 

The US EPA estimates that textile waste occupies nearly 5% of all landfill space.

The SSY Promise

We produce our clothing on-demand from excess fabrics. Each piece of clothing is made from high-quality excess fabric leftover from big-name brands, then individually cut and sewn for each customer to avoid unnecessary waste and overproduction. No inventory is ever held to ensure we only produce clothing that will be worn.

We only use waterless dyeing techniques. We choose to only use waterless dying methods to cut down on often untreated wastewater being dumped into rivers and oceans. The toxic aftermath of standard textile dyeing on our marine life and eco-systems is alarming and something we promise to never use.

    The holidays are the most stressful time of the year, especially financially. Please offer a discount on your workout clothing line in the spring or summer. Just can’t add any more stress to my small budget at this time, but really want to support you and get some darling items. I only have tee shirts and ugly pants..nothing else to wear and am looking for a change but the styles out there are less attractive.
